Professor Brian Collins

Professor Collins's current personal research center on the design and engineering of structured, secure and dependable knowledge and information management processes and systems using next generation information and communications technology (ICT). He is currently a Vice President of the British Computer Society. He was one the technical advisers to the DTI on a Foresight Cybertrust and Crime Prevention project, and as an Associate Fellow of RIIA Chatham House he is advising on Future Global Security issues. He also has held the position of Director of Technology at GCHQ.

Professor Gertz specializes in databases and information systems with a focus on management of scientific data, data integrity and quality, and database security. Within his responsibilities for database security, Professor Gertz emphasizes detection and prevention of insider misuse, database security re-engineering, trust management and authentic data publication scheme. He is a member of ACM, ACM SIGMOD, IEEE, and the Gesellschaft fuer Informatik (GI). He served as program co-chair of the IFIP TC 11.5 Working Conference on Integrity and Internal Control in Information Systems in 2001 and 2002, and he is co-chair of the 10th International Conference on Information Quality (ICIQ'05).

Nicholas Imparato, PhD is a Research Fellow at the Hoover Institution, Stanford University and Professor of Marketing and Management at the School of Business and Management, University of San Francisco. He is an award winning educator, corporate executive, author and sought-after speaker in the areas of macro-environment influences, including brand strategy and valuation, innovation and leadership, database security and governance. He has conducted seminars in over 30 countries and has had extensive experience working with leaders in both the public and private sectors. Dr. Imparato has served as a member of the board of directors and an advisor for Business for Diplomatic Action (New York), as co-leader of the Homeland Security Initiative for the Bay Area Economic Forum and as a member of the United States Secret Service Electronic Crimes Task Force in San Francisco.
